It was hard to come back down to earth after the intensity of that afternoon. But we both knew that our husbands would be coming back soon, and that we’d all be having dinner in a little while, which would mean putting clothes back on. Also, my back was beginning to bother me again. As I felt this, I realized that I’d completely forgotten about my injury during this interval with Valerie. As I pulled my sweatshirt back on, our conversation became somewhat casual once again. It was slightly awkward, and I felt strange, but I didn’t know what to say. After dressing, I left her room and walked toward my own door. My bare feet were quiet on the carpet, and the hall was empty. It was a different world, in a way. Here, alone, it could almost be that none of that had just really happened. Entering my room, the same way I had the previous day, seeing the same things, made me wonder about whether I was now somehow different. And what was going on for Valerie? Never having had such an experience, I didn’t really know what to do at its conclusion, but I suppose I’d expected at least some embracing and a kiss goodbye. Was this just an entertaining sideline for her? Would we go back to just being friends who spent some evenings together in the company of our husbands? I realized then that I did not want that to happen, that I wanted to go on knowing Valerie as I had this afternoon.

I got on the bed to ponder these things and wait for Tom, who would be coming up any minute. I took two more pills and lay down, wondering then if these meds had somehow played a real part in what had gone on when I had first been in her room, earlier in the day. Had it been mostly intoxication? Yes, I decided, but not from the pills. As I replayed recent events in my mind, I knew that it was Valerie who had me intoxicated. I removed my sweatpants then, laying back and stroking my pussy slowly as I thought about it all.

I heard the door open as I was doing this. “I’m back,” came Tom’s voice from the main room, and I heard his ski boots click and bang, picturing him knocking the snow off on the mat inside. “It’s really coming down again,” he added. He stepped into the doorway of the bedroom, then paused and smiled when he saw me in just a sweatshirt, gently fingering myself with my legs spread before him.

“Get those clothes off,” I said. “We’ve got some time before dinner.”

“Are you sure?” he asked. “What about your back?”

“It’s fine,” I said. “Really. And I need it. I need you inside me.
